El Grupo Shell transfirió sus negocios en Chile a Quiñenco S.A.

El día 1° de junio de 2011, el Grupo Shell transfirió sus negocios en Chile a Quiñenco S.A., uno de los conglomerados de negocios más grande del país, con activos consolidados de aproximadamente $ 34 mil millones de dólares. Quiñenco es la entidad controladora de un número de empresas líderes en servicios industriales y financieros en diversos sectores de la economía chilena.
Quiñenco también fue designado como macro distribuidor para comercializar, vender y uir los lubricantes Shell en Chile y será el proveedor de servicios para los clientes internacionales de Shell Marine Products en el país.
Esta operación incluye el negocio de retail y las estaciones de servicio asociadas, que seguirán operando bajo la marca Shell en virtud de un contrato de licencia. Se incluyen también en la venta los negocios de combustibles industriales, asfaltos y productos químicos, además de la infraestructura relacionada con el suministro y la distribución de dichos productos.

Effective May 31, 2011, members of the Shell Group transferred their businesses in Chile to Quiñenco S.A., one of Chile's largest business conglomerates with consolidated assets of approximately US$34.0 billion. Quiñenco is the controlling entity of a number of leading industrial and financial services companies in diverse sectors of the Chilean economy.
Quiñenco has also been appointed as a macro distributor to market, sell and distribute Shell lubricants in Chile and will become the delivery service provider for Shell Marine Products' international customers in the country.
The business acquired by Quiñenco includes the Shell retail marketing business and associated service stations, which will continue to carry the Shell brand under a trademark licensing agreement. The commercial fuels, Bitumen, and Chemicals businesses were also included in the transaction, in addition to the related supply and distribution infrastructure in Chile.
For a short period of time, we will continue using the “Shell Chile” name, and you may continue to access information about our businesses through this website. Our new web site is under construction, and you will be notified on this page when we go live.
